It was 2 years ago — Autumn of 2020 — when I decided to buy a monitor for myself. I was already programming several hours each and every day and it was time to work with bigger screens (I was only using the screen of my 13" Macbook Pro).

So I did what most of us would do — head to Amazon. As I started scrolling and doing some research, I decided I was going to buy an ultrawide monitor.

Yeah, one of those fancy monitors that make you look like a pro.

But they were (and are) expensive. A lot for a student without a stable income at the time.

So I decided to use my coding skills and free time to create a simple project to frequently track the prices of products I was interested in and store them in a database. That way, when a price dropped, I could send an email to myself and then consider purchasing it.

Plus, it was almost Black Friday — I wanted to take advantage of it.

Its name was Bazar, and this is the process I went through to build it.
